Calm In Her Storm
She strives for perfection though falter she may
It’s all that she sees, her focus each day.
Working so diligent to push herself through
Every second she wonders, “What can I do?”
The question that haunts her, takes over her mind,
Who will I see, what will I find.
Try as she might, it’s a feat unsurpassed
Because ever so quickly, the day, it is past.
She runs herself ragged, smiling all the while,
All the time thinking… just one more mile.
Her mind forever races, her heart beat is fast,
Afraid for some reason she may come in last.
The balls of her feet are steadily sore,
For ever so heavy is the burden she bore.
Her arms remain weak, struggling to fight,
For a breath of fresh air, but her lungs remain tight.
Every day is a battle she fights all alone,
Deep in her mind no end can be shown.
But it’s the smallest of hope, that glimmer that shines,
Reach deep within, climb through the vines.
Hold on to the promise, claim it TODAY,
God does not want our edges to fray.
Stand tall and strong, and know that this life,
It’s too short for the struggle, the pain and the strife.
Let go of the burden, the worry and doubt,
Turn that sweet smile around from your pout.
Give Him this day, the one we are given,
To the one whom we claim our sins are forgiven.
Give Him a chance to step in your place
Take just a moment to embrace His sweet face.
Lay down your sorrow, your burden to bear,
Leave it at His feet, for its safest right there.
Move on with your day, I promise it to be
Much less a struggle, happy and free.
If you will take time to hold tight to His hand,
Give him the hour glass, ALL of the sand.
Peace can be found only with Him,
When we give up the fight and go out on a limb.
Relax in his presence…
Find calm in your storm.
